Cigar Box Guitar

I built my first Cigar Box Guitar in my spare time over the past couple weeks. I was very impressed with the authentic sound that came from a simple instrument. It took a while to get the hang of it, but now I can't put it down.
I recorded a little tune and am working on a video to accompany the song. I'll post it as soon as it's finished.

Learning to Airbrush

I bought my first airbrush last month. It's been a real challenge but allot of fun. Here's a couple of my first attempts. I have to give thanks to my beautiful models, Zoie, Logan and Little Emma Lemon :)

Classic Christmas

I came across this scene on an evening stroll the other night. I liked the lights and the old dodge. Plus, the single-wide really gave me a classic, americana vibe.

Big Boy

My daughter loves to spend time outdoors with the miniature horses at grandma's house. She is getting a lesson in bare back riding from her grandpa "Shorty". I wanted to capture some of that joy and the beautiful color and splendor of late summer.

Ford

Another "Rust in Piece" painting. I'm forever fascinated with the weathered textures of rust and broken glass.

Double Bass

I took the reference photos for this image around 1 a.m. at The Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival in Winfield, Kansas. I spent the weekend camping, and taking photos of the festival and it's many musicians. It was a crazy good time and many more paintings based on the festival are sure to come.

Van

I was out catching the morning light with my camera and came across this old van. I decided later that it would make a great painting.

Abandoned Houses

I have been working on a series of photographs while exploring abandoned houses along Kansas Highway 50.
The amount of abandoned homes along this highway is staggering.

Peter Pan

When I was in grade school my mother took me to see a high school production of "Peter Pan". Since that day I have always been a fan.
